Your guide to loving Greensboro as much as I do.
We are a city marked by colleges and universities, artists and craftspeople, major corporations and small businesses, great restaurants and breweries — and friendly people from all walks of life. I know because I’ve lived here my entire life! I’m so happy to welcome you to a city and a community that is dear to my heart. Join me for a tour of the area, and I’ll help you discover some of the best neighborhoods the south has to offer.
I love how work, life and leisure intersect here.
Here are some of my favorite ways to spend time in this lively, emerging city that is #SoGSO.

Get your culture fix with a visit to the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center, Weatherspoon Art Museum, Elsewhere Artist Collaborative and much more!
Greensboro is a higher ed town, with 7 colleges and universities in the city — and triple that within a 1-2 hour drive. Community members love to attend sporting and cultural events on campuses and just to be surrounded by an environment that values learning and advancement.
Greensboro likes to eat! You’ll find a delicious meal, no matter what you’re craving: fine dining, southern cuisine, Vietnamese, Mediterranean, authentic Italian pizza — and so many more great places to dine. Want a recommendation? Reach out, and I’ll guide you.

Greensboro works hard, but we know how to recharge! Spend a few hours on or near the water, enjoying Lake Brandt, Lake Higgins, Lake Townsend — just to name a few. Go for a hike and enjoy 42 miles of natural surface trails. Or, take a stroll through one of our many beautiful parks and gardens. From LeBauer Park and Center City Park to Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden to Country Park, there is a park or garden around every corner in each part of the city.
Take in a concert, an intriguing public talk or even a Broadway show — for starters we’ve got FolkFest, the Eastern Music Festival, the Bryan Series, community theatre, opera, the Greensboro Coliseum, the Carolina Theater and the brand new Tanger Performing Center for the Performing Arts!
Families love the Children’s Museum, where kids can learn through play and explore a variety of interactive activities. And at the Greensboro Science Center, you’ll find an aquarium, museum, zoo, and even a ropes course, making it a great place for kids of all ages!

Take time to learn about Greensboro’s rich history. From the city’s founding in 1808 to its place in the history of the Civil Rights movement, Greensboro has fascinating and important stories to tell. Visit the Greensboro History Museum, International Civil Rights Center and Museum, Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, Blandwood Mansion, the Guilford Woods, where it is said the Underground Railroad began and many other interesting spots for history buffs.
Grab a craft beer, hang out at a distillery, savor a fantastic glass of wine — there’s a beverage for everyone here.
Love sports? Greensboro is Tournament Town, with all the college hoops you can handle and a decades-long college basketball legacy of history-making heartbreaks and nail-biting buzzer beaters! Plus, enjoy action-packed excitement of minor league baseball and basketball, arena football, the PGA’s Wyndam Championship, tennis at the Winston-Salem Open, high-level men’s soccer and more!
A moment’s notice, you can be at any number of beautiful beaches and breathtaking mountains, just a short drive away!
Compassion and caring run deep.
Greensboro’s generosity astounds me. I’ve watched this community join together to support and further so many causes and important initiatives. One of my favorite demonstrations of loving your neighbor is the annual Sunset Hills Running of the Balls. Each holiday season, this incredible, historic neighborhood — my home — becomes a wonderland of colorful light and community spirit. All of Greensboro comes together to enjoy the warmth and beauty — from street to glowing street — and to take part in a meaningful tradition that makes an impact for others: A 5K run/walk as well as canned food collections to support Second Harvest Food Bank. With the greater community’s help, this effort provides meals to the North Carolinians who need it most with donations all season long.
From the colleges and the culture to the parks and the people, Greensboro is a great place to call home. Let’s make it your home, too.
